A cross-party movement at Westminster committed to improving the health, lives and experiences of families and adults living in Temporary Accommodation across England.

Formed in early 2022 and currently active, the APPG is committed to improving the health, lives and experiences of families and adults living in Temporary Accommodation (TA) across England. The group highlights the damaging health and educational impacts of living in TA, especially for children.

Child Mortality in Temporary Accommodation Report

The temporary accommodation (TA) crisis continues to worsen, with over 175,000 children currently homeless in taxpayer funded accommodation which routinely fails to meet their needs.

New data reveals that at least 104 children have died with Temporary Accommodation indicated as a contributing factor to their vulnerability, ill-health, or death since April 2019

This shocking new data highlights how poverty, deprivation, and racial inequalities are major factors contributing to child mortality, as well as providing new insight into how temporary accommodation affects pregnant women.

This report explores both areas in greater detail and sets out policy recommendations for national and local government.
