Formed in early 2022 and currently active, the APPG is committed to improving the health, lives and experiences of families and adults living in Temporary Accommodation (TA) across England. The group highlights the damaging health and educational impacts of living in TA, especially for children.

Campaign Win: Notification System for GPs and Schools

The amendment to the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill for a notification system, which we have been continuously campaigning for through our SAFE Protocol Campaign, was welcomed and passed in the House of Lords. We are pleased and look forward to working with the Government to ensure the notification system is implemented.

National call for evidence on neurodivergent children’s lives in temporary accommodation

The APPG for Households in Temporary Accommodation, in partnership with King’s College London, Shared Health Foundation and Autistica, launched the first UK-wide Call for Evidence to gather parents/guardians and professionals' experiences of living in TA with neurodivergent children.

The findings will be used to campaign for better support for families living in TA, and families with neurodivergent children especially. The findings report will be published in January 2026.
